“It’s not fair to possibly have your life shortened because of where you grew up.”

This quote from Charles Graham, a leader with United Workers, describes one of the core issues we are confronting in our fight to stop the incinerator – equity. A community that is already burdened with some of the highest levels of toxic air pollution in the country is set to receive the nations’ largest trash burning incinerator as a new neighbor. The incinerator would be less than a mile away from 2 schools and within 3 miles of 18 others.
